TOUR ITINERARY:

Destination: Lijiang, China
Activities: Tiger Leaping Gorge which is about 100 kilometers (62 miles) northwest of Lijiang Old Town lying between Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (Yulong Xueshan) and Haba Snow Mountain (Haba Xueshan) and Tiger Leaping Gorge (Hutiao Gorge), which is believed to be the deepest gorge in the world. First Bend on the Yangtze River - The three tributaries of the Yangtze River, the Golden Sand River, the Lantsang River and the Nu River, surge forward from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and join together in the northwest Yunnan Province. The Golden Sand River runs ahead to the Hengduan Mountain Range. When meeting a cliff in the Stone Drum Town, it suddenly turns to the northeast, forming a large V-shape bend. Thus it was named First Bend on the Yangtze River.   Stone Drum Town - The Stone Drum Town stands on a small hill beside the First Bend on the Yangtze River. In the town, there is a drum-shaped white marble stele, which is 15 meters (16.4 yards) long and 0.7 meters (2.3 feet) thick.

The tour : Visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge, the First Bend on the Yangtze River with imposing gorge scenery, and the Iron Chain Bridge in the Stone Drum town. The town of Stone Drum got its name from a large, cylindrical, marble tablet shaped like a drum.
