How to handle luggage at Chinese train stations
When you travel by train in China, you might find that at each waiting hall of the railway station, there are groups of people wearing red caps and red jackets and speaking loudly to passengers in a bustling waiting hall. Those people are called “The Little Red Cap” and the members of “ The Little Red Cap Team”. or called porters. In China, “The Little Red Cap” has become the nickname of the luggage-helpers at the Chinese railway stations. the services charge are various at different stations, big or small; some about rmb 5 or 10 / per standard suitcase, some about RMB 10 per person with his or her luggage. The Little Red Cap" serves them by pushing wheelbarrows to deliver your luggage to the platform where you board your train. Please note they do not deliver the luggage to the cabin. You could pay more to let them help you do this if they agree. There are luggage handle counters near entries of big train stations, You could pay the luggage fee there and the "Little Red Cap" would go with you, in some small train station you can call them directly when you see them.
