1. Silk Road Discover Tour Itinerary:

Day 01 Arrival in Beijing ( Meals: -/-/- )
Our guide will meet you outside the baggage claim area at Beijing Airport and transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city. (if you want you can add some tour today, please let us know your flight land time and we can add it for you. )

Day 02 Beijing ( Meals: B/L/SD )
After Breakfast at your hotel, you will be taken by your private guide and driver, Visit the Coal Hill Park, where you can have a bird view of the Forbidden City. Then visit Tiananmen Square, the symbolical heart of China and gathering place for the masses. It is the biggest public square in the world. Then visit the Forbidden City, as the Palace Museum, the Chinese imperial palace from the middle of Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. After finish your lunch at local restaurant, then visit the Temple of Heaven with its outstanding round shape, covered by an exquisite triple roof of blue tiles. It is the place where the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasty worshiped heaven and prayed for peace and harvest. After the whole day tour, dinner we prepared The Beijing Duck Dinner which served at the famous restaurant - Quanjude, Chairman Mao said we will pass Quanjude to our generations for ever during the Culture Revelotion to protect the brand not be destroyed. After Quanjude Duck Dinner, you will enjoy a lively Peking Opera performance ( or Kung Fu Show or Acrabatic Show ) at the Liyuan Theatre.

 Day 03 Beijing ( Meals: B/L/D )
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be taken by your private guide and driver to Visit the Mutiany Great Wall where is a not too commerchial area compare with Badaling Section ( You also can change to visit Badaling ) Located among the orchards and pines in the mountains to the north of Beijing, the Great Wall of China was constructed and reconstructed at Mutianyu to keep out the nomadic tribes to the north. Come to learn, touch, and explore the history of a Wall built over 300 years ago, yet which remains largely intact as it snakes endlessly across the mountain ridgelines. After lunch at local restaurant, visit the Sacred Way which means the road leading to heaven, Enjoy a walk along the Sacred Path leading to the necropolis. Visit the Ming Tomb of Changling, the largest one where emperor Yongle was buried. Although not excavated itself, it displays the artifacts found in the Ding Ling Tomb.After dinner at local restaurant, transfer back to your hotel by your private guide and driver.

Day 4 Beijing - Urumqi (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to airport to take a morning flight to Urumqi (CA1293 0820-1225) Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, take a city tour in Urumqi.

Urumqi is the capital of Xinjiang Province located in the western-most part of China. The people here look more Arabic than Chinese perhaps because of the area's proximity to the Arab countries. Tall, deep-round eyes, pointy noses even their language is obviously different from Chinese. Much of the writings on the road signs and billboards are in Arabic. The name Urumqi, by the way, is a Mongolian word for beautiful pastures

Day 5 Urumqi—Kashgar (B/L/-)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Southern Pastures in the morning. Take a full day excursion to the Southern Pastures. The Southern Pastures is a beautiful pasture the pastoral Kazakh inhabit and graze in summer. One of the most spectacular spots here is the West White Poplar Gully. Traveling through this narrow verdant gully is a unique experience for sightseers who love snowcapped peaks, waterfalls, dragon-spruce trees and wild flowers. Visitors can take a horseback tour guided by local Kazakhs.

Return to Urumqi in the afternoon and then transfer to airport for an afternoon flight to Kashgar, the key center on the ancient Silk Road, and saw a steady stream of traders from the MIddle East and Central Asia.

Arrive in Kashgar, transfer to your hotel.

Day 6 Kashgar-- Karakuri Lake (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. Depart with hand luggage to lake Karakuri through Karakorum (4 hours). On arrival, stroll around lake Karakuri (Karakuri Lake known as the father of glaciers, sits at an elevation of 3600 meters and is located at the foot of Mount Maztagata. It is an unspoiled place like Shangri-La with its dramatic and spectacular natural scenery. The surface of the lake reflects the snow-covered peaks of Mount Muztagata, which towers in the background. Hikes and walks around here are refreshing, especially in summer when flowers bloom and the air is fresh and pleasant.).

Day 7 Karakuri Lake--Kashgar (B/L/-)

Breakfast at hotel. Continue to walk around lake Karakuri to see the traditional life in the morning. Return to Kashgar after lunch.

Day 8 Kashgar--Urumqi (B/L/-)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit the Sunday bazaar, the biggest farm trade market of Uygur in Xinjiang. Owing to its favorable position, countless merchants from many parts of the world would go to Kashgar, so it was also known as "the pearl on the Ancient Silk Road". Bazaars are the focus of activity nearly every day, with stalls dotted here and there, and crowded streets. Throughout the bazaars, you will find some stalls that sell everything while others specialize and sell local produce, arts and crafts, garments, knives, timber, coal, and animals.

Then continue to visit Abakh Khoja Tomb, which was served as the family tomb of Abakh Khoja, the powerful ruler of Kashgar in the 17th century. In China the tomb is better known as the Tomb of Xiang Fei, the only Uigur concubine among the 41 wives of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. Abakh Khoja Tomb is admired as a well-preserved Islamic architectural complex not only in Xinjiang, but also throughout Central Asia. Xiang Fei's love story intrigues tourists from home and abroad.

The Idkar Mosque ('Id Kah' means 'a place of praying and celebrating in festivals'. The Id Kah Mosque is located on the central square in Kashgar City. As the biggest mosque in China, it is a group of old Islamic constructions with strong ethnic style and religious features. The whole complex occupies 16,800 square meters (about 4 acres) and consists of the courtyard, the Hall of Prayer, and the gate tower and as well as some other attached structures.).

Transfer to airport to take an afternoon flight to Urumqi. After arriving in Urumiq, transfer to your hotel.

Day 9 Urumqi--Turpan (B/L/-)

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, drive to Turpan (4 hours), it is a remote desert city in the far west of China, one of the lowest places on earth, where rain never falls and summers are scorching hot. Turpan was once an important staging post on the Silk Road and its large oasis produces most of the best grapes in China.

Transfer to the hotel on arrival. Free at leisure at the rest of day.

Day 10 Turpan (B/L/-)

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, discover the surroundings of Turfan: the ruins of Jiaohe (The ruins of Jiaohe is one of the world's architectural wonders hides in Yarnaz Valley, 10 kilometers west of Turpan. Like a willow leaf, the ancient city of Jiaohe with a history of 2300 years lies between two rivers on a loess plateau atop a cliff of over 30 meters. It is also the largest, oldest and best-preserved earthen city in the world.),

The Karez irrigation wells and the canals (The Karez irrigation wells refer to special wells is linked by underground tunnels and provides irrigation in the desert. Well be compared with the Great Wall and the Grand Canal. The wells were sunk at varying distances to a dozen or several dozen meters deep to collect undercurrent water from melting snow. The water is then channeled through tunnels dug from the bottom of one well to the next and led to oases for irrigation. The world-famous grapes of Xinjiang own their excellence to the existence of these wells. Karez systems are very delicate irrigation systems made up of vertical wells, underground canals, aboveground canals and small reservoirs. The surface canals, connected to the underground ones, are not more than 1 meter (3.2 feet) wide with trees planted on both sides to prevent evaporation.).

In the afternoon, take a city tour in Turpan.

Day 11 Turpan--Liuyuan  (B/L/-)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit the Bezeklik caves (Bezeklik consist of 67 caves are the Thousand Buddha Caves. It means "place where there are paintings" in the Uigur language. It used to be an important center for Buddhist worship. Among the 83 existing numbered grottoes, about 40 of them have rich remains of murals. Some murals present clearly the figurines of the Huigu people; some showed Indian monks and portraits of Buddha over different periods throughout history.).

Then proceed to visit the ruins of the ancient city of Gaochang (It is famous for its impressive ruins of the ancient city and used to be a garrison town, later it became a key point along the ancient Silk Road. The ruins originally consisted of three parts: the inner and outer cities, and a palace complex).

Transfer to railway station to take an overnight soft sleeper train to Liuyuan. (1081/1084 2215-0810)

Day 12 Liuyuan--Dunhuang (B/L/-)

Arrive in Liuyuan, meet your guide and then drive to Dunhuang. Have a breakfast at hotel. Visit The Echoing-Sand Dune (It is known as the sand dunes of Mingsha, offers superb picture-look desert scenery. The dune, surrounded by rolling ridges and precipitous cliffs, reaches a relative height of 250 meters (820 feet). Legend told in ancient times The Han army beat their war drums to call the troops to arms, in the middle of the battle, a fierce wind blew up, filling the sky with sand and burying both armies. This is why, to this day, the wind blows across the sand's surface to the roll of war drums.),

The Crescent Lake (Crescent Spring is called a natural wonder in the Gobi Desert. It resembles a crescent fallen down into this desert. Having been lying among these sand dunes for thousands of years. Crescent Spring is still gurgles clear and the first spring in the desert although given many fierce attacks by sandstorm.).

Continue to visit the Yumen Guan Pass (Yumenguan Pass, located on a hillock 90kms northwest of Dunhuang city, is an important pass of the north route on the Silk Road. It was also called "Small Square City". Legend had said that a jade was set on the gate of "Small Square City" for the sake of ensuring the security of passing trade caravans. So the city was named as "Yumenguan Pass" since then. The present city was constructed with rammed earth with two gates respectively in its west and north directions. The wall is 10 meters high and its top is 3 meters wide and bottom 5 meters.).

Walk along The Great Wall of the Han Dynasty and visit the Hecang Fortress.

Day 13 Dunhuang (B/L/-)

Breakfast at hotel. Full day excursion to the Mogao Grottoes (Mogao Caves are known as the Caves of a Thousand Buddhas. It means high up in the desert. The legend told at The Tang Dynasty, a monk had witnessed onsite a vision of thousand Buddhas under showers of golden rays so he was inspired and started the caves construction work that spanned ten dynasties. There are 50,000 manuscripts written in many languages apart from artifacts. The Mogao Grottoes are a depository of historical and cultural exchanges over more than a thousand years between China and other nations.).

Day 14 Dunhuang - Xi’an (B/L/-)

Breakfast at hotel. Free at leisure before transfer to airport to take an afternoon flight to Xi’an. (CZ6895 1510-1730) Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Free at leisure at the rest of day.

Day 15 Xi’an (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. Take an excursion to Terra Cotta Army Warriors (Most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. It is a sight not to be missed by any visitor to China. Life size terracotta figures of warriors and horses arranged in battle formations are the star features at the museum. They are replicas of what the imperial guard should look like in those days of pomp and vigor.),

Drive back to discover The Big Wild Goose Pagoda (The Big Goose Pagoda is situated in the Da Ci'en Temple, known as the best-preserved Buddhist temple complex, four kilometers away from the center of the city. It is one of the city's most distinctive and outstanding landmarks, possibly the most beautiful building left in Xian today.).

Jianfu Temple (Jianfu Temple is a famous Buddhism temple in the Chang'an city of the Tang Dynasty. The temple, established in honor of Emperor Tang Gaozong upon the centenary of his death, was particularly associated with the pilgrim monk, Yijing, who was a great translator of that time. "Xianfu", meaning the "temple of offering good fortune" was its original name. It got its present name "Jianfu Temple" in AD698. Small Wild Goose Pagoda, situated in Jianfu Temple, is a historical legacy left by the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Its well-known "Morning Bell Chimes" is regarded as one of the eight famous scenic features in Shaanxi Province.).

Day 16 Xi’an - Beijing (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, visit the ancient old City Wall (At the time when Zhu Yuanzhang-the first emperor of Ming dynasty, captured Huizhou, long before the establishment of the Ming Dynasty, a hermit named Zhu Sheng, admonished to "built high walls, store abundant provisions and take your time in proclaiming yourself emperor", which Zhu Yuanzhang heeded. Once the whole country was unified, he sent orders to the local governments to built city walls on a large scale.),

Grand Mosque (The Grand Mosque in Xian is one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved Islamic mosques in China and its location is northwest of the Drum Tower (Gu Lou) on Huajue Lane, built in the 7th century.),

Enjoy a walk in the neighborhood of the Grand Mosque and visit Gao Yue Song’s Ancient-styled Folk House (Gao Yue Song, who was a high rank official in Ming Dynasty 300 years ago. This famous house won the “Prize for Cultural Heritage Protection in Asian-Pacific Area of UNESCO in 2002 - ). Enjoy the local Shadow Play Opera at Muslim Street.

Transfer to airport to take an afternoon flight to Shanghai, Upon arrival, meet your guide and then transfer to your hotel.

Day 17 Shanghai (B/SL/D )
Arrive in Shanghai in the morning and our Shanghai guide will meet you at railway station and transfer to the hotel. Breakfast will be by yourself on train. Visit Nanjing Road, the Bund, the famous avenue that parallels the Huang Pu River. The road is lined with some of the most prestigious buildings and landmarks of the city, mostly erected during the time of the foreign concessions. The river acts as a mirror between the old and the new Shanghai. Pudong features a futuristic city devoted to business and finance with its facade of skyscrapers. From the top of the TelevisionTower, known as the Pearl of the Orient,lunch at the Revoving Restaurant there. you will have an overall view of the city while have you lunch.In the afternoon visit Jade Buddha Temple, it is the most famous and one of the most active Buddhist temples in Shanghai. Named for its two bejeweled white jade Buddha, one is 1000kg, 1.9 meter-high figure carved from Burmese jade brought to China in 1882, the Yuyuan Garden, It is well worth a meander through the Yu Garden, which has many scenic courtyards decorated with baroque rockery, pools and flora, all connected by corridors and passageways.The dinner will be serve and followed by the Portman Acrobatic Show at the Shanghai Centre Theatre.
