Day 1 Beijing---Arrival (-/L/D)
Arrive in Beijing international airport in late morning, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Walk inside Summer Palace and stroll under the covered gallery along the Kunming Lake (The Summer Palace is a favorite among tourists sightseeing in Beijing. Indeed, it is one of the best parks in the city. Originally it was a retreat for emperors to escape the scorching summer heat of Beijing. The Summer Palace was used by emperors for 800 years, but fell into disuse in the 18th century. Then in the 19th century, the Empress Dowager Cixi made massive renovations and restored many buildings using money funneled out from the state treasury.).

Day 2 Beijing (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. Take an excursion to the Great Wall (Mutianyu section)(Located in Huairou County in the suburbs of Beijing, the section of wall at Mutianyu Great Wall is 70 km from the center of Beijing. Connected with Juyong Pass in the west and Gubeikou in the east, it is one of the best preserved parts of the Great Wall and was originally set up to attract some of the crowds away from Badaling.).

Continue to visit The Chang Ling Tomb of the famous Ming Dynasty Tombs (Some 50 kilometers northwest of the capital, the Ming Tombs are generally combined with a visit to the Great Wall. Otherwise known as the - 3 Tombs - this is the burial site of 13 out of 17 emperors of the Ming Dynasty.). Enjoy a walk along the Sacred Path leading to the necropolis, along the path are bizarre, mythical stone monsters standing guard.

Day 3 Beijing (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, walk on Tian'an Men Square (Located at the center of Beijing City, where you can visit Tiananmen Tower, Monument to the People's Heroes. It is the must place to visit in Beijing City.),

Visit Forbidden City (Known as the Imperial Palace Museum or Gugong, the Forbidden City was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties carried out their administration and lived. Now it is open to the public as a palace museum where people can see the great traditional palace architecture, enjoy the treasures kept in the palace, and learn of the legends and anecdotes about the imperial family and the court.),

Walk up Coal Hill Park (Situated just opposite the north gate of the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park is originally a small hillock, which was artificially made into 5 hills during the early years of the Ming dynasty. It used to be known as Coal Hill for the rich coal resource. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong, it used to be known as the Garden of a Hundred Fruit Trees. It is said that the hill protected the Forbidden City from evil spirits.).

In the afternoon, take a tour of Temple of Heaven (The Temple was built in 1420 A.D. during the Ming Dynasty to offer sacrifice to Heaven. As Chinese emperors called themselves "The Son of Heaven - they dared not to build their own dwelling - Forbidden City" bigger than a dwelling for Heaven.).

In the morning, visit Lama Temple (The only temple in Beijing to have its own subway stop, also called Yonghe Lamasery, or Yonghe Gong, is the most handsome and impressive Buddhist temple in the city. The Lama Temple was originally the residence of prince Yongzheng, who later became Emperor. His mansion was converted into a temple in 1744 after he ascended the throne. One of the most prominent features of the temple is a huge, 23-meter-tall Maitreya Buddha, which was carved from the trunk of a white sandalwood tree.),

Confucius Temple (The Temple of Confucius in Beijing is located on Guozijian Street, inside Anding Gate. The Temple of Confucius was initially built in 1302 and additions were made during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Temple has a 600-year-old history. Compared with the Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong Province, it is the second largest temple constructed for Confucius, the greatest thinker and educationist in ancient China.).

In the afternoon, enjoy a rickshaw tour in the heart of the "Hutong", the small lanes of old Beijing (Hutong is a kind of typical ancient city alley in Beijing and the old narrow paths where common people lived. All the Hutongs crisscross with each other, dotted with the Kindergarten, the Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Tea House, the lake, House of Gong Infante and local people's houses among them. Many of them were built during the Yuan (1206-1341), Ming (1368-1628) and Qing (1644-1908) dynasties surrounding the Forbidden City.).

Transfer to the railway station to take an evening express train (Soft sleeper) (T69 1924-0815) to Xian (4 passengers in one cabin, with DVD system for everyone).

Day 5 Xi'an (B/L/D)
Breakfast at train. Meet your guide and transfer to your hotel on arrival and then take an excursion to Terra Cotta Army Warriors (Most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. It is a sight not to be missed by any visitor to China. Life size terracotta figures of warriors and horses arranged in battle formations are the star features at the museum. They are replicas of what the imperial guard should look like in those days of pomp and vigor.),

Drive back to visit History Museum (The Provincial History Museum - a striking Tang-Dynasty style pavilion, houses a large collection of 113,000 historic and cultural artifacts unearthed in Shaanxi. It is an absolute must for every visitor to the city.).

Visit the Grand Mosque and enjoy a walk around its neighborhood. (The Grand Mosque in Xian is one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved Islamic mosques in China and its location is northwest of the Drum Tower (Gu Lou) on Huajue Lane, built in the 7th century.),

Xi’an--Guilin (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, visit The Big Wild Goose Pagoda (The Big Goose Pagoda is situated in the Da Ci'en Temple, known as the best-preserved Buddhist temple complex, four kilometers away from the center of the city. It is one of the city's most distinctive and outstanding landmarks, possibly the most beautiful building left in Xian today.).

Enjoy a walk in the old quarters around the Drum Tower and Muslim Street (Located beside the Drum Tower, it is about 500 meters long from south to north. This street is paved with dark colored stone with green trees providing heavy shade during summer; the buildings on both sides of the street are modeled on the styles of both the Ming (1368-1644) and the Qing Dynasties (1644-1911). Some of the constructions are restaurants; while others are stores. But here there is one thing in common: the owners are all Muslims.).

Visit Gao Yue Song’s Ancient-styled Folk House (Gao Yue Song, who was a high rank official in Ming Dynasty 300 years ago. This famous house won the “Prize for Cultural Heritage Protection in Asian-Pacific Area of UNESCO in 2002 - ). Enjoy the local Shadow Play Opera at Muslim Street.

Breakfast at hotel. Take a first glimpse to visit of the Elephant Trunk Hill (Situated majestically at the southeast of Guilin city and west bank of Li River, Elephant Trunk Hill is regarded as the symbol of Guilin landscape. Originally named "Li Hill", "Yi Hill" and "Chenshui Hill", the hill has a history of 3.6 hundred million years. Resembling an elephant leisurely sucking water from the river with its long trunk, this hill is famous as Elephant Trunk Hill for hundreds of years and it is the symbol of Guilin city.),

Then visit Fubo Hill (With half of the hill stretching into the river, Fubo Hill, which is 120 meters long, 60 meters wide and 213 meters high, stands on its own to the northeast of the city, on the west bank of the Li River. The waves of the river are turned back when they meet the stone blocks of the hill, hence the name "wave-subduing hill".),

Reed Flute Cave (The Ludi (Bamboo-Pipe) Cave on the northwestern outskirts of Guilin, seven kilometers from the city center, is a limestone cave in existence for at least 600,000 years. The entire cave is 240 meters deep, 93 meters at the widest section and 18 meters at the highest point. It is one of the largest known examples of typical karst cones.).

Day 8

Guilin - Yangshuo - Guilin--Kunming (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. Enjoy the famed cruise on the Li River (The Li River cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo is the centerpiece of any trip to northeastern Guangxi Province. Gorgeous Karst peaks give you surprises at each bend of the limpid river under the blue sky. Water buffalo patrol the fields, peasants reap rice paddies, school kids and fisherman float by on bamboo rafts. With its breathtaking scenery and taste of a life far removed from the concrete metropolis, the scenery along the Li River become one of China's top tourist destinations.).

Arrive in Yangshuo when you finish your cruise (Located 65 kilometers to the southeast of Guilin, Yangshuo is an ancient town that became a county in Jin Dynasty some 1500 years ago. It is famous not only for the attractive hills and waters there, but also for its abundant produce, particularly for such fruits as sweet orange, tangerine, pomelo and persimmon. Chestnuts produced in Yangshuo are also well known for their excellent quality.).

Have a short exploration of the town before returning to Guilin to transfer to airport to take an afternoon flight to Kunming. If time permits, visit the Flower and Bird Market in the old part of town (The Bird and Flower Market is part of a series of streets and markets in central Kunming where an attempt has been made to preserve some of the typical architecture of the region. Traditional wooden houses with grass growing from their roofs line the streets where a variety of products are sold, including of course a small alley devoted to flowers and cage birds.).

Kunming—Dali (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to airport for a morning flight to Dali (MU5927 0720-0800). Upon arrival, discover the Bai minority villages of Xizhou, (Located 18 kilometers north of Dali, faces Erhai on the east. It grew and flourished in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) along with the fortunes of Dali renowned tea merchants that traded to Tibet. It is not only a historically famous city but also a typical commercial center of Bai Ethnic Nationality. It is now a must for the travelers. You can enjoy lovely ethical clothes, fairylike programs, decorative architectures, gifted garden parties and wonderful handicrafts there.),

Zhoucheng (The largest and the farthest northern village of Dali City. Situated at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, the village is not far from the Butterflies' Fountain and Erhai Lake. Handicraft and commerce here are constantly developed. The patterns of hand-made tie-dyed cloth in particular are pure and beautiful. Clothes of this material sell well abroad.).

In the afternoon, drive to the shore of the Erhai Lake and take a glimpse at the majestic Three Pagodas (Known as the Chongsheng Santa and situated on top of the ruins of Chongsheng Monastery, the Three Pagodas lie one kilometer northwest of Dali. Located on the slope of Mount Cangshan, and overlooking Erhai Lake, the Three pagodas are a must-see in your Dali tour.).

Take a cruise on Erhai Lake (Erhai Lake is a 400 sq km stretch of water which dominates the landscape around Dali. The lake is an important source of fish for the local people. The lake can be explored by foot or by hiring a boat to visit the islands and sights along the shore. Xiao Putuo Dao is a small island and home to a 15th century temple dedicated to the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, Guanyin.).

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning drive to Lijiang via the new road. In Lijiang, visit the Black Dragon Pond (Walking north from the Old Town of Lijiang, exactly at the foot of Elephant Hill, is the Black Dragon Pool (Heilongtan), an influx of limpid spring. Since the water of the pond is as green as a shining jade, the park of Black Dragon Pool, which was built in 1737 during the Qing Dynasty, is also entitled the Black Dragon Pond (Yuquan Park).), the Moon Embracing Pavilion (Deyue Pavilion), Dongba Museum, sanctuary of the ancient Naxi culture.

Walk about in the old streets of the Lijiang Old Town (The Old Town of Lijiang, a well-preserved old city of ethnic minorities with brilliant culture. Located on the plateau which is 2,400 meters above the sea level and embraced by the tree-covered Lion Mountain in the west, Elephant and Golden Row Mountains in the north, vast fertile fields in the southeast and crystal clear water running through, the old town looks like a big jade ink slab, therefore got the alias the Town of Big Ink Slab. Lijiang was placed on the world cultural heritage list in 1997.).

Take an excursion to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (Yak Meadow Section) (Located 15km north of Lijiang city with an altitude of 5600 meters (18,400 feet) above sea level, is the highest mountain on the southern bank of the Yangtze River. The mountain extends 35 km from south to north and 12 km from west to east, producing different altitudes in the mountain. Owing to conspicuous three-dimensional climate caused by different altitude, various trees and rare animals living in different climates can live together in this mountain. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is a holy mountain for the local Naxi people and now is a famous scenic spot for sightseeing, mountaineering, exploration, scientific research and taking holiday.).

On the way back to Lijiang, visit of Jade Peak Temple (Located in the south side of the Yulong (Jade Dragon) Snow Mountain. The lamasery was built in the last year of the reign of the Emperor Kangxi(1661 - 722) of Qing Dynasty (1644 - 911) and is one of the Scarlet Sect lamaseries of Lijiang.),

Baisha village, once the capital of the Naxi Kingdom, famous for its Buddhist frescoes and lively atmosphere.

Back to Lijiang at the end of the afternoon and free at leisure at the rest of day.

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, drive to Shigu (Stone Drum) village, (This ancient town is named after a drum-shaped marble plaque. Built during the Jiaqing era (1548-1561) of the Ming Dynasty, the stone drum is a monument commemorating the victory of Lijiang's Naxi ruler over an invading Tibetan army. It is one point five meters (five feet) in diameter and zero point five meters (two feet) in thickness. The stone drum has an obvious vestige of what appears to be a "rip" in it. It is said that the stone drum would rupture prior to any war and then fold when peace returned.), overlooking the First Bend of the Yangtze River, a world-famous geological phenomenon and an extraordinary panoramic scene whose vistas you will long remember with great pleasure. Then continue to the Tiger Leaping Gorge (Tiger Leaping Gorge (Hutiao Gorge), which is believed to be the deepest gorge in the world. From the top of the gorge you look down the steeply angled (70-90 degrees) mountain sides to the rushing Golden Sands (Jingsha) River with its 18 frothing rapids more than 200 meters (about 700 feet) below.). You will enter the gorge by bus before taking a path down to the Golden Sands River, name of the upper course of the Yangtze River.

Drive back to Lijiangin in the late afternoon.

Day 13/Aug

Lijiang - Kunming (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, take a flight to Kunming (MU5936 0825-0925). On arrival, take an excursion to Stone Forest (The Stone Forest is in Shilin Yi Nationality Autonomous County, which is about 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Kunming, consisting of eighty hectares of ancient limestone cliffs and peaks eroded by wind and water over two hundred million years. It covers an area of 400 square kilometers (96,000 acres) and includes both large and small stone forests, as well as many other scenic spots. An old local saying says that "If you have visited Kunming without seeing the Stone Forest, you have wasted your time." Truly, the Stone Forest is one of the most important attractions of Yunnan. Its area is the home of the Sani minority.).

On the way back to Kunming, visit Golden temple (Located at the top of Phoenix Song Mountain, about 11km from Kunming. The roof of the Daoist temple is made from copper and in the sunlight it glistens like gold. The present Golden Temple was design by Wu Sangui during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Inside the temple there are Buddhist statues, inscribed boards, beams, pillars, well-screens and other decorations, which are all made of bronze.).

Day 14 Kunming - st1:City w:st="on">Chongqing (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to the Western Hills followed by a ten-minute chairlift ride up the hill. (Western Hills, which are 15 kilometers (nine miles) from Kunming, are actually a range consisting of four mountains: Biji, Luohan, Huating, and Taiping. Viewed from a distance, the skyline of the Western Hills' forest reserve resembles a beautiful maiden reclining leisurely alongside of Dianchi Lake with her long hair drifting casually in the mirror-like water. It is for this reason that the local people gave the Western Hills the nickname, Sleeping Beauty Hills.).

Go through the Dragon Gate (Dragon Gate is the steepest spot in the Western Hills and well worth climbing up the winding old stone stairs because the view is spectacular), visit Huating Temple (This is the largest Buddhist temple in Kunming and its history stretches back to 900 years. Inside are three gilded lacquer Buddhas seated upon lotus thrones and 500 statues of Buddhist Arhats on the sidewalls. There is a stark contrast between the three majestic Buddhas and the seemingly easy-going poses of the luohans. Additionally, this Huating Temple has an interesting Bell Tower, and two halls: Devajara Hall and Mahavira Hall.).

Transfer to airport to take an afternoon flight to Chongqing (MU5829 1435-1550). Upon arrival, meet your guide and then walk along Pipashan Park and enjoy lovely views of the city and the Yangtze River.

Start the cruise on the Yangtze River with a stop at Fengdu, the city of Ghosts. Go back to the boat to  continue the cruise towards the magnificent Three Gorges section.

Yangtze River Cruise (B/L/D)

Cross Qutang Gorge and board a small boat on the Daning River, where you will catch a glimpse of the three small gorges (this excursion might be replaced by another one). Return to the cruise ship in the afternoon and cross Wu Gorge.

Day 17/Aug

Cruise---Yichang - Shanghai (B/L/D)

Cross Gezhouba Dam after passing the last gorge, Xiling Gorge. The cruise ends in Yichang. In the afternoon, take a flight to Shanghai (FM9366 1830-2000). Upon arrival, meet your guide and then transfer to your hotel.

In the morning, visit Shanghai Museum (As well-known as the Museum of Ancient Chinese Art, the Shanghai Museum was established in 1952 and relocated twice before finding a permanent home at its present location, south of the centrally located People's Plaza, in 1996. More than 120,000 precious and rare works of art in 21 categories make the Shanghai Museum the most remarkable cultural institution in the city.),

Jade Buddha Temple (It is located in the western part of Shanghai. In 1882, an old temple was built to keep two jade Buddha statues that had been brought from Burma by a monk named Huigen.).

Mandarin Yu Garden (Yuyuan Garden, a place of peace and comfort in the heart of bustling Shanghai, dates back to the fabled Ming Dynasty. Now a popular tourist destination, Yuyuan began as a private garden created by Pan Yunduan, who spent almost 20 years - and all of his savings - to build a garden in order to please his parents in their old age. That is why he called this garden "Yuyuan" - because "yu" in Chinese means "peace and health".).

In the afternoon, stroll along The Bund (The Bund is the classic image of Shanghai and the city's main attraction. Sweeping along the western side of the Huangpu River, the majestic buildings date back to Shanghai's grandest days. Many banks and financial companies built impressive offices here in the early 20th century when Shanghai was the financial capital of Asia.),

Nanjing Road (China's premier shopping street, 3.4-mile-long Nanjing Road, starts at the Bund in the east and ends in the west at the junction of Jingan Temple and Yan'an West Street. Today Nanjing Road is a must-see metropolitan destination attracting thousands of fashion-seeking shoppers from all over the world.).

Day 19/Aug

Shanghai - Suzhou--Shanghai (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, transfer to railway station and depart to Suzhou by train (T706 08:37-09:15), also known as the Venice of the East. Laced by canals and stone bridges, Suzhou is a UNESCO Cultural Heritage and famous around the world for its luxury silk and the beautiful gardens built by scholars.

When reach in Suzhou. Discover the main gardens: Humble Administrator's Garden (An exemplary work of classic gardens in southern China and one of four famous gardens in Suzhou, it was built in 1509. Wangxianchen gave his garden this name, meaning humble Administrator's Garden, because it was built after he was dismissed from the imperial court. The design makes good use of the natural terrain. This five-hectare garden is center on a pond and includes pine forests, hills, bamboo groves and meandering streams.),

The Garden of the Master of the Nets (The Garden of the Master of the Nets is a clear example of this. It is the smallest of the Suzhou residential gardens, yet it is the most impressive because of its use of space which creates the illusion of an area that is much greater than its actual size.).

In the afternoon, continue to visit Silk Factory and Tiger Hill (Tiger Hill, known also as Surging Sea Hill, is a large hillock covering some14100 square metres (over three acres) and is 36 metres (118 feet) in height. Climbing the hill, you will find a number of historical sites some of which can be traced back over 2500 years to the founding of Suzhou. There can be little doubt that Tiger Hill is a wonderful sight with its leaning pagoda, waterfalls and landscaped paths. It is hard to believe that the hill was man made to be the burial place of king but this is yet another part of the wonder that is China, a land that will never cease to amaze and enthral the visitor with its heritage.).

Return to Shanghai by train in the late afternoon.
